Kirrawee is predominantly a family area and therefore home to a mix of freestanding residences. They date from classic 1950’s and 1960’s houses, many of which have been renovated to accommodate modern living, right through to contemporary and brand new family homes. Around 20 per cent of local residents currently live in apartments or semis.
Kirrawee has a very distinct split between commercial and residential areas within the suburb. Approximately 90 per cent of the area to the north of the train line is occupied by commercial and industrial properties while almost 100 per cent of the area south of the train line is residential.
Oak Road is the shopping hub of Kirrawee and features a selection of 30 plus shops, including newsagents, bakeries, video stores, florists and various services.
